Carvana built two homegrown Slack AI bots of its own — a hand-rolled agent loop, then the Claude Agent SDK wrapped in a Slack app — before deciding the maintenance and per-team access controls were not worth owning, and replaced both with Claude Tag. Teams now let it watch their production alert channels and carry an alert through investigation, pull request, and human review, with scoped identities giving each team its own slice of the data warehouse.
